EMERGENCY beach cleanups, Saturday 10-12 and 2-4pm

It’s been in the news and on various facebooks- the terrible state of beaches all over Hong Kong!

Can you help Saturday?? We’ve got 2 options. Nim Shue Wan (the beach near the ferry to Mui Wo?) from10-12. Or at North Plaza beach in the afternoon? It took 40 mins the other day and my family of 5 collected 10 bags. So even if you can fill one or 2 bags our beaches would be so happy! Not to mention the poor fish swimming in this muck. The most opportune time to remove rubbish from the ocean is when it is coughed up on to the shore before it gets swept away again. So let’s hope we can get as much as we can!!

  • 10am 12 noon Nim Shue Wan beach (near Mui Wo ferry pier)
  • 2pm-4pm Sam Pak Wan (North Plaza beach)

Bring: your own NON DISPOSABLE refillable water bottle, insect repellent and sunscreen. And bring lots of friends and family!

Spread the word!

For those of you who can’t make it tomorrow I plan to leave plastic bags at each location so you can pick up rubbish when you can. Here’s a family I found on the beach this morning picking up rubbish!
